The European Commission has published a corrigendum and short country report on the Netherlands’ State of the Digital Decade 2026, updating two figures and assessing progress, priorities, and recommendations.
- The corrigendum corrects figure 3 in the Digital Decade 2026 communication: VHCN changes from 85.5% to 85.6% and 4-year progress from 22.7% to 22.8%.
- The country report says the Netherlands has strong connectivity, semiconductors, and digital public services, but still faces skills shortages, fragmented public services, and slower SME adoption of advanced technologies; it cites EUR 170 million in public budget for roadmap measures and EUR 1.1 billion under the recovery and resilience plan for digital.
- The report also notes Dutch participation in several EU digital initiatives, including EDICs, IPCEIs, EuroHPC JU, and Chips JU, and recommends stronger coordination, funding continuity, and cybersecurity implementation.
