The European Commission has issued its 2026 Kosovo Report as part of the EU enlargement package, assessing Kosovo’s progress across rule of law, governance, economy, energy, environment, and EU alignment.
- The report says Kosovo remained politically unstable during the reporting period, but also notes some reforms, including the appointment of EU integration structures, progress in public administration, and resumed SAA body meetings after EU measures were lifted.
- It highlights mixed progress across chapters, including continued weaknesses in judiciary, corruption, competition policy, environment, and public procurement, alongside some advances in AML/CFT, customs, digital services, and foreign and security policy alignment.
