The European Commission has published its 2026 Bosnia and Herzegovina report as part of the EU enlargement package.
- The report assesses Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress across accession chapters, finding widespread limited progress or no progress and highlighting delays in reforms, EU alignment, and institutional functioning.
- It says Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted its Reform Agenda in September 2025, but still must sign and ratify the Facility and Loan Agreements, appoint a Reform and Growth Facility Coordinator, and establish monitoring structures; the first tranche grace period expires at the end of 2026.
- The report also notes concrete actions and figures, including Bosnia and Herzegovina’s general elections on 4 October 2026, its placement on the FATF grey list on 19 June 2026, and support under the European Peace Facility worth EUR 35 million.
- It covers governance, rule of law, migration, energy, climate, trade, and other accession areas, and includes statistical annexes on macroeconomic, labour market, and sectoral indicators.
