European Commission sets 2027 work programme priorities

The European Commission has announced its 2027 work programme, listing new initiatives, priority pending proposals, withdrawals, and envisaged repeals.

• The programme sets out 23 new initiatives across themes including Single Market, energy, transport, housing, climate adaptation, and democracy, with several proposals slated for Q1-Q4 2027.
• It also lists pending legislative proposals such as the Chips Act 2, Cloud and AI Development Act, European Biotech Act, and Digital euro, while identifying older files the Commission intends to withdraw within six months.
