Germany service producer prices rise 3.7% in Q2 2026

Statistisches Bundesamt (Destatis) has published a press release on service producer prices in Germany for Q2 2026.

• The overall service producer price index rose 3.7% year over year and 1.6% quarter over quarter in Q2 2026; the strongest increase was in transport and storage (+6.2%).
• The sharpest sub-index rise was in sea and coastal freight transport (+20.7% YoY, +23.4% QoQ), attributed to higher fuel prices and carrier surcharges linked to the Iran war and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz; Destatis also cites increases in IT hosting, real estate services, accounting, legal services, and cleaning/labor leasing.
