Google launches veteran skilled trades career commitment

Google has announced a new commitment to help 25,000 veterans and military family members build careers in skilled trades.

• Google.org funding and support will go to Hiring Our Heroes, Student Veterans of America (SVA), and Home Builders Institute (HBI) for hands-on pre-apprenticeships, career coaching, and direct job placements.
• The post says this is part of Google’s broader AI Opportunity Fund for the United States and references prior support for the electrical training Alliance (etA) and SVA; it also cites Google’s data center operations in Ohio and Indiana and a previously launched Alliance for America’s Skilled Trades with BlackRock, Ford, and Carhartt.
