OVHcloud details Object Storage evolution and resilience

OVHcloud has published a blog post summarizing a #VeryTechTalk session about the evolution, architecture, resilience, and roadmap of its Object Storage service.

• The post says OVHcloud launched HubiC in 2014, moved the service to OpenStack Swift, and after acquiring OpenIO in 2020 launched an S3-compatible object storage class about 1.5 years later.
• It also says the service uses erasure coding, supports versioning, object lock, and replication, and that Object Storage 2.0 is in private beta to remove soft limits and improve TTFB for small files.
