Putin and Alikhanov discuss data center incentive contracts

The Kremlin published a transcript of President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov on industrial sector performance and support tools.

• Alikhanov proposed extending special investment contracts to data processing centers, tying preferences and tax deductions to a binding obligation to buy Russian servers and data storage systems.
• He said a 1 billion ruble construction project would need about 7 billion rubles of equipment, noted over 100 special investment contracts have generated over 2 trillion rubles of investment, and said the Industrial Development Fund has supported 2,200 projects worth almost 850 billion rubles.
• The meeting also covered machine-tool engineering, industrial robots, and the New Materials and Chemistry national project, which supported projects worth over 110 billion rubles in the past year and has 12 sectoral engineering centers, with plans for 3 more this year and 6 more next year.
