Ramaphosa says infrastructure investment drives South Africa growth

President Cyril Ramaphosa said South Africa is placing infrastructure investment at the center of its growth strategy at SIDSSA 2026.
- He said the country’s strategic infrastructure portfolio has grown from R340 billion in 2020 to more than R1.67 trillion today, with 195 projects in the current portfolio, 32 completed projects worth about R48 billion, and 55 projects worth more than R407 billion under construction.
- He also said Infrastructure South Africa is using its R600 million project preparation facility to support 26 projects, and emphasized the need to convert plans into prepared projects, investment, and construction.
