Rocky View County drops Kalina data center project

Rocky View County updated Council on Kalina Distributed Power Limited’s withdrawal of its proposed data center project and closed the related planning work.

• Kalina advised it is not proceeding with the proposed data center on the site near Airdrie and is withdrawing from the land use redistricting pre-application process; the withdrawal notice is dated April 24, 2026.
• The notice says the broader concept included a 200 MW gas-fired power generation project and names the project Lone Pine Energy Center at 15-35-027-28 W4M; the notice also says the scheduled April 29, 2026 open house was cancelled and provides a contact number and email.
