RPC reviews Energy Independence Bill impact assessments

The Regulatory Policy Committee has announced that it is scrutinising the final impact assessments for the Energy Independence Bill submitted by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

• Final impact assessments for the Energy Independence Bill were received from the department on 3 November 2026 and published on GOV.UK on 4 November 2026.
• The committee says it is independently scrutinising the evidence and analysis supporting the case for regulation, and will publish its opinion once the review is complete.
