SK Group announces 15GW AI data center plan

SK Group has announced a 15GW AI data center buildout plan through SK Telecom.

• The group said on June 29 at the “National Report Meeting for Korea’s 3 Major Mega Projects” that it will sequentially build 15GW of AI data centers, with 5GW to be opened starting in 2029 and the full 15GW to be built by 2035.
• SKT said site selection will consider power supply, anchor tenants, and regional balance; financing may include SK investment, strategic partner investment, global customer long-term contracts, and project financing. The company also said it is discussing partnerships tied to a hyper-scale data center under construction in Ulsan and may use renewables, BESS, LNG, and SMR for power supply.
