Ukraine has joined the international Horizon Europe project “Quantum-Resistant Cryptography in Practice” (QARC), coordinated by Brno University of Technology, with Ukrainian participation from the National University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” (KAI) as a full member and the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine as an associated member.

  • Project launch and coordination: QARC is coordinated by Brno University of Technology under Horizon Europe, uniting experts from 11 European countries; a kick-off meeting took place at Brno University of Technology where Ukrainian partners met colleagues from Czechia, Estonia, Spain, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Switzerland and Lithuania.
  • Scope, timeline and technical focus: The project (running until 2028) aims to develop post-quantum versions of key security protocols (examples: Kerberos, PKI, TLS), build quantum-resistant cloud storage and data transfer platforms, implement solutions for e-Government and e-Voting, and produce roadmaps and practical recommendations for migrating to new cryptographic standards.
