CNMC sets 2026 electricity transmission and distribution tariffs

The Spanish regulator CNMC has approved the resolution setting 2026 electricity transmission and distribution access tariffs.

• Average tariffs for access to transmission and distribution (T&D) networks in 2026 increase 0.5% vs. 2025, with domestic (2.0 TD) and industrial (6.3 TD) tariffs reduced and tariffs for other consumers increased, reflecting the higher weight of transmission remuneration in their charges.
• Transmission remuneration rises 12.1% and distribution remuneration2.5% vs. the 2025 tariff resolution; CNMC also partially allocates past remuneration and income deviations under Circular 3/2020, deferring part to mitigate future tariff impacts, while demand in 2026 is expected to grow 1.2% in consumer numbers, 2.3% in contracted power, and 3.6% in energy consumed.
