Cologix’s MTL8 Montreal Data Center Achieves LEED Gold

Cologix has announced that its MTL8 facility in Montreal earned LEED Gold and was designed as an AI-ready, high-density data center with embedded sustainability from project inception.

• Main announcement: MTL8 is a LEED Gold–certified 206,000 SQFT Scalelogix data center at Technoparc Montréal powered by more than 99% renewable energy from Hydro-Québec, achieving an annualized PUE below 1.3, and designed for high-density AI and cloud workloads.
• Background and project details: The project preserved more than 80 existing trees, planted 500+ indigenous trees, maintained >97% of site vegetated green space, implemented a biodiversity plan protecting the Bertrand Stream, uses closed-loop refrigerant systems, greywater reuse and rainwater recovery, and employed locally manufactured Québec insulated panels and FSC-certified materials.
