Azerbaijan and US Charter on Strategic Partnership for Connectivity, AI

The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America issued a Charter on Strategic Partnership on 10 February 2026.

• Main announcement: The two governments commit to deepen cooperation on regional connectivity, energy, trade, transit, digital infrastructure, AI, and security, including support for the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (Middle Corridor) and the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP); they also intend to expand civil nuclear cooperation, energy interconnector projects, and cooperate on the transit of critical minerals.
• Background and implementation details: The Charter builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed on August 8, 2025 (Washington D.C.) and references the Washington Peace Summit Declaration; it calls for establishing working groups across economy/trade, energy, connectivity/AI/digital development, and security, with working groups to decide project lists and roadmaps within three months of signing and annual meetings at minimum.
