The Solar and Storage Industries Institute (S12) has released a report analyzing flexible interconnection’s impact on New York community solar projects. The study found that flexible interconnection can provide 176% more revenue over a project’s lifetime compared to conventional scenarios. The research, conducted in partnership with multiple organizations including the U.S. Department of Energy’s Interconnection Innovation Exchange, demonstrated that implementing flexible interconnection now is more beneficial than waiting for major grid upgrades, with solar-only curtailment at just 10% of yearly exports.
