ADNOC, Masdar, XRG and Microsoft advance AI for energy

ADNOC, Masdar, XRG and Microsoft announced a strategic agreement to accelerate AI deployment across ADNOC’s value chain and to deliver energy and infrastructure solutions supporting Microsoft’s global AI and data center growth.

• Partnership scope: ADNOC and Microsoft will co-develop and deploy AI agents across ADNOC’s value chain to drive autonomous operations, efficiency and emissions reduction; Masdar and XRG will develop sustainable energy projects and infrastructure to support Microsoft’s global AI and data center expansion. The announcement was made at ENACT Majlis in Abu Dhabi, ahead of ADIPEC (press release date: 2025-11-02).
• Background and implementation details: ADNOC first rolled out generative AI enterprise-wide in November 2023 with Microsoft Copilot; since then >40,000 employees have completed AI training, utilization rates are above 90%, and ADNOC reports over 70,000 hours per month in productivity gained. Microsoft will provide advanced AI tools and upskilling programs, and the parties will explore a joint innovation ecosystem to create energy-sector solutions.
