On Aug. 21, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy issued a fresh emergency order keeping two retiring Eddystone units running near Philadelphia. The order runs from Aug. 23 through Nov. 20, 2026 and covers 760 MW. DOE grounds the action in a PJM reliability record it ties directly to data-center load growth. For Pennsylvania siting, the same record now pairs recruitment with a formal reliability screen for large loads.
- Lancium ties NVIDIA to its 15 GW Texas campus portfolio – Lancium said on Aug. 24, 2026 that NVIDIA made a strategic investment and will deploy DSX MaxLPS and DSX Flex across campuses representing 4 GW of leased capacity; the amount and stake size are not disclosed in Lancium’s materials.
- Infineon to buy Bangalore’s C2i Semiconductors for AI data-center power – Infineon announced the acquisition on Aug. 24, 2026, with close targeted for Q3 2026; it plans a new digital-power center of excellence in India, where it employs about 2,800 people.
- India’s ALMM (Wind) amendment mandates in-country servers – MNRE’s July 31, 2025 amendment requires locating wind-turbine R&D centres, data centres, and/or servers within India; a compliance notice posted Aug. 25, 2026 with a window to Oct. 24, 2026.
