Prysmian invests $1B+ in U.S. fiber capacity

Prysmian has announced a more than $1 billion investment across three U.S. sites to expand fiber and optical cable manufacturing capacity and create 600 manufacturing jobs.

  • The investment covers Claremont, North Carolina ($1.02 billion fiber operations plant and $48 million cable operations plant), Jackson, Tennessee ($100 million), and Lexington, South Carolina ($80 million).
  • Prysmian said the Claremont campus will more than double U.S. fiber optic production capacity, while the company also cited its recent €5.5 billion ($6.29 billion) long-term agreement with Molex to supply optical cables for data centers.
