US clean energy installations have reached a record in Q3 2024 with 10.2 GW of new capacity added, bringing the year-to-date total to 29.6 GW, an 86% increase from 2023. The American Clean Power Association (ACP) reports that utility-scale solar led with 6.3 GW installed in Q3, while energy storage added 3.5 GW. TotalEnergies’ Danish Fields Solar project in Texas, with 600 MW capacity and 150 MW/225 MWh battery storage, was the largest commissioned project. The US now has 294 GW of total clean energy capacity, serving approximately 72 million American homes.
